Black Friday
|
BOY am I looking forward to this. Not because of the 'discounts' on shit stuff currently being warehoused because its shit and they cant sell it ordinarily, but because I love seeing news reports showing chavs trampling over each other and fighting over a Blaupunkt TV.

Nothing better than seeing all the black women at Primark near Baker Street going fucking mental when they open the doors for the sales.
Absolute nutters for the sake of saving a fiver.
Asda's a couple of years ago on Black Friday was also hilarious when they were fighting over the TV's.

Re: Black Friday

most retailers will use 'Black Friday' as a good opportunity to sell through old lines or poor sellers - still at a profit.
people are stupid enough to fall for most of the marketing.

Maybe it's me, but I don't understand this obsession of buying loads of stuff, just because the pride has been reduced. People are buying stuff that they didn't need or want.
I'm quite happy buying the stuff I want or need when I want or need it and if I'm paying full price for it, so be it.

Actually, aside from all the hilarity of people beating each other up to get cheap electrical goods or clothing in budget shops, I think it would be a good idea if we had a thread (or used this one) so WHOers could alert the rest of us if a genuinely good deal for something comes up.

'that Ikea near wembley'
Surely one of the worst places on earth. And I've been to Croydon.

Lots of companies make inferior black friday products to make people think they are getting a bargain when the reality is a lot different.

Read somewhere that researchers determined that more than 50% of items advertised on black Friday were actually cheaper before and after black Friday.

For sure the retailers swindle some stuff
But if you know what youre after and are going to buy it anyway how could you moan at saving more money

Its all a scam. Like designer factory shop villages make clothes items specifically sent there with cheaper fabrics.

I've got my eye on a tidy little Polaroid surround sound from Asda, Friday morning.

Ditto. Best thing of all is I can't even think of anything I'd buy. I want to get rid of stuff, not get more.
